The auctions run on a 3 weekly cycle, this varies during the month of August and at Christmas.
Auctions take place on a Saturday, starting at 10.00a.m with lot number 1 and continuing until finished. The auction room will close approximately 1 hour after the auction finishes.
We are open for viewing from 8.30a.m on the morning of the auction (a busy time) and the day before between 10.00a.m and 7.00p.m (a quieter time).
The catalogue for each sale is available to download on the website in the immediate days before the auction, the exact day can vary (it is usually Wednesday).
You can buy a catalogue at the auction room, currently £2.50
In order to bid in the room you will need to register and have a buyers number, unless you are a permanent buyer you will need to register for each auction.
If you are unable to attend the auction you can leave a written absentee commission bid. This is a free service, however we do not accept liability for failure to carry out a commission bid.
Please register including your email address so that we can email you an invoice at the end of the auction.
Please bid clearly with your bidding card by holding it up in front of you, towards the auctioneer. You can develop eyebrow movements and winks after 3 or 4 auction's practice.
There is a buyers premium of 19.8% incl VAT payable on top of the hammer price. So if you buy an item for £100 it will cost you £120 after buyers premium.
All items are sold as seen, prospective buyers should satisfy themselves as to the condition of items before bidding, all electrical items are sold on the basis that they are not working and should be checked by an electrician before use, although they are tested for safety. At the fall of the hammer the lot becomes the responsibility of the purchaser.
We accept payment by cash, debit card and credit card (the latter subject to a 2% charge).
You have until the following Friday to collect items after which a storage charge will be levied, we are open Monday to Friday 10.00a.m till 5.00p.m.
Selling at Wombell's
Regular auctions are held every 3 weeks, we also hold a silver, jewellery and watch auction every 3 months.
We charge 19.8% incl VAT commission on the hammer price, subject to a minimum charge of £6 incl VAT per lot.
You can bring items in for consignment to the next auction during the ten day period following the previous auction sale.
We charge £60 incl VAT per hour for collecting items, this is for two men and a van/lorry as appropriate.

We undertake many full house clearances and are happy to give a free estimate.
We will give you a receipt for your items and will lot them for auction as we see fit.
Vendors are not permitted to bid for their own property, any reserves should be agreed at the time of consignment.
After the auction sale we will post you a statement together with a cheque for the amount due to you.
